Adjunct to His Excellency

The fascists came to my house again. For the fourth time in almost three years of the Great War. They came in the morning, at the beginning of the ninth, on September 26, 2024. The total number of the fascist group was ten people.

The fascists this time, as many times before, were cunning. They arrived in cars with Ukrainian license plates, were dressed like ordinary Ukrainians and, most surprisingly, spoke Ukrainian. True, with overwhelming elements of mixed multi-regional surzhyk.

The trick of the morning fascists who arrived was that they first taped up the keyhole and the peephole so that they could not be seen from the apartment. Having performed these typical fascist manipulations, the sly ones began to kick down the front door of the apartment.

At that time, only our son, who had just turned eighteen, was in the apartment. Through the closed door, he asked who was breaking down the door and what they wanted. The fascists did not answer him and continued to kick the door. He called the police.

The police patrol that arrived expertly explained to the son that “only bandits tape over door peepholes.” And the apartment door was broken down by police officers from the Holosiivskyi District Police Department of Kyiv.

That is, they were not exactly fascists, but local policemen with fascist habits. And those who sealed the peepholes with tape were certainly not bandits.

As soon as my wife and I arrived at the scene of the attack on the apartment by non-fascist non-bandits, two men in civilian clothes came up to the landing and introduced themselves as Ruslan (chief of the district homicide department) and Ivan (operator). They did not show their IDs. Apparently, due to the extreme secrecy of their identities.

Ruslan and Ivan confirmed that they were the ones who broke down the door. The one who kicked the door at full speed was police officer Roman Vladimirovich Dmitrik.

I immediately recalled the unshakably confident assurances of the Minister of Internal Affairs Igor Vladimirovich Klimenko:

“A police officer is trained to use weapons and force against a criminal, but this has nothing to do with trenches, with engineering structures, with actions within a squad, platoon, or company. Firing a machine gun at a criminal or special forces capturing a criminal organization, for example, is one thing, it is an action in the city, but it is not the same as an action in a field, forest, and so on.”

Now I know exactly what Minister Klimenko meant when he spoke about “action in the city”. And I also know that Igor Vladimirovich definitely underestimates his subordinates, which was confirmed by the chief of local district inspectors Dmitrik, who was summoned by operative Ivan.

As soon as he got out of the elevator, Roman Dmitrik began to deny that it was he who had knocked down the door. Ruslan and Ivan were silent.

– And who are you?! – Dmitrik shouted at my wife. Having learned that she was the owner of the apartment, he fell silent.

And then he confirmed that he had knocked down the door. When asked to show his police ID, Roman Vladimirovich Dmitrik opened his mobile phone and showed that he was listed as a member of “Diya”.

“Well, he didn’t break the door,” Dmitrik declared, turned around and rode off down the elevator.

“Didn’t break” is, of course, putting it mildly. Roman Vladimirovich Dmitrik, zealously and overzealously, kicked the metal door so hard that he damaged the lock and knocked off the apartment number plate. Naturally, it was unpleasant that he was rude and did not even apologize, but when our journalists found out who the local police chief Dmitrik really is, they had to change their opinion of him and even become a little proud of the attention Roman Dmitrik showed us.

Unlike Ruslan and Ivan, who are plowing “on the ground,” Roman Vladimirovich Dmitrik, a professional door-knocker, has consistently been and is an adjunct, the author of several scientific articles and a PhD dissertation in the field of scientific police thought.

Policeman Ruslan politely explained that they had the wrong apartment number, and that Roman Vladimirovich Dmitrik should have been the one knocking down the door next door. “A witness gave us your apartment number,” Ruslan said. The name of the informed witness was secret.

I suspect that this “secret witness” was Roman Dmitrik, who, as the head of the local police, knows all the criminal elements in the area. For example, our entire building knows and hears how drug addicts come and drive to the neighboring entrance in cars for a fix. “Oleg!” the junkies shout from below, and their savior and benefactor Oleg comes down to them.

Well, the fact that Roman Vladimirovich Dmitrik did not know in which apartment since June 2024 the forty-year-old recidivist and deserter Denis Vasilyevich Kravchenko has been living, cohabiting with the local celebrity, alcoholic and drug addict Olga Velichko – it is not the job of an adjunct candidate to know about this. Moreover, both Roman Vladimirovich and Denis Vladimirovich have the same professional hobby: breaking down other people’s doors.

This professional hobby differs only in that Roman Vladimirovich breaks down doors under the cover of a police ID, and recidivist Denis Kravchenko under the cover of night. That is, they are colleagues of sorts.

I remember a “bearded” joke on this topic.

A cop is standing on a bridge and sees shit floating by.

– Hello, colleague, – the shit shouts to the cop.

– What kind of colleague am I to you? – the cop was offended.

– Well, of course: you are from the internal organs, and I am from the internal organs…

Besides being colleagues, they are also fellow countrymen!

Roman Valentinovich Dmitrik was born in the village of Khashchuvate.

Khashchuvate is a village in the Gaivoron urban community of the Golovanovsky district of the Kirovograd region. The population of the village is 1,898 people, including Roman Valentinovich Dmitrik.

Anyone can find the village’s background on the Internet. A very interesting detail regarding our door-knocker and adjunct and candidate of sciences Roman Dmitrik: in 1923, the village became a district center (not in the sense of the center of the earthly paradise), but already in the same year the entire district was annexed to the Grushkivsky district due to the lack of professional personnel in the village to organize serial murders through hunger.

That is, there were such professional personnel in the village, but their qualifications were at the level of simple door knockers.

Denis Vasilyevich Kravchenko also broke down doors. And here is how he did it.

This is a story about how Roman Vladimirovich Dmitrik’s colleague ended up in Kyiv.

Nobody writes to the Colonel?

On June 14, 2024, an open court hearing was held at the Uman City District Court of the Cherkasy region, chaired by Judge Elena Ivanovna Eshchenko. The court considered the submissions of the head of the State Institution “Starobabanovskaya Correctional Colony (No. 92)” Dzyuman Alexander Vladimirovich.

A.V. Dzyuman sent a petition to the court for the parole of Denis Vasilyevich Kravchenko. Chief Dzyuman justified this early release of the convicted Kravchenko by Denis Vasilyevich’s desire to serve in the Armed Forces of Ukraine under a contract.

In his presentation to the court, A.V. Dzyuman described in sufficient detail the criminal adventures of his current ward.

Denis Vasilyevich Kravchenko served his sentence in the State Institution “Starobabanovskaya Correctional Colony (No. 92)” according to the verdict of the Vatutinsky City Court of the Cherkasy region dated July 7, 2023, amended by the decision of the Cherkassy Court of Appeal dated September 6 of the same year. Kravchenko was convicted under Part 3 of Art. 185 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, using Part 4 of Art. 70 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, for a period of 4 years and 6 months.

The sentence entered into legal force on September 6, 2023, the beginning of the term of service was December 14, 2020, and the end was June 14, 2025.

It started with the fact that Denis Kravchenko wanted to be free. And he wrote a statement to the head of the colony, A.V. Dzyumana, asking him to be released on parole.

Having carried out urgent measures and put them into practice, the administration of the State Institution “Starobabanovskaya Correctional Colony (No. 92)” considered the possibility of parole for Denis Vasilyevich Kravchenko. And then she immediately established that this convict had undergone a medical examination right in the correctional facility on May 5, 2024. And he turned out to be “somatically healthy.”

Employees of the branch of the State Institution “TsOZ DKVS of Ukraine” in the Cherkasy and Kirovograd regions made a medical conclusion that the health condition of the convicted Denis Kravchenko does not prevent him from performing military service. And this future contract service was not hindered by the fact that during his detention in the pre-trial detention center in Cherkassy, Denis Vasilyevich was characterized negatively, and in the State Institution “Starobabanovskaya Correctional Colony (No. 92)” – mediocre.

According to the administration of the correctional facility, Denis Vasilievich Kravchenko meets the requirements for military service under contract. And, most importantly, Colonel X, the commander of the N-th unit, agreed that he was ready to accept prisoner Kravchenko into his ranks. That is, the colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed the statement of Alexander Vladimirovich Dzyuman about Denis Kravchenko’s compliance with the above requirements for soldiers – defenders of Ukraine.

Judge of the Uman City and District Court, Yelena Ivanovna Yeshchenko, confirming the wishes of A.V. Dzyuman to hand over, and Colonel Kh to take under his protection, the convicted Kravchenko, defined them as follows:

“In connection with the fact that at this time there are grounds… for sending a corresponding petition to the court… to resolve the issue of parole…”.

Moreover, the prosecutor did not object to satisfying the petition and, moreover, considered it possible to release prisoner Denis Kravchenko on parole to perform military service under a contract during the special period and asked the court to establish administrative supervision in relation to the convicted person.

The prosecutor also emphasized that D.V. Kravchenko expressed a desire to serve in the Armed Forces of Ukraine under a contract and that he meets the requirements for military service. And he, the prosecutor, had existing grounds for establishing administrative supervision in relation to the convicted Kravchenko.

The convicted person himself, Denis Kravchenko, asked the court to satisfy the petition of the chief of Dzyuman, because he was eager to stand up for Ukraine. This decision – to stand up for the defense – was made by him voluntarily, without any pressure on him.

By the time Judge E.I. Yeshchenko made a fateful decision for Denis Vasilyevich Kravchenko, the latter already had a military ID card issued to him on June 4, 2024, that is, 10 days before the trial that would determine his future fate. He was even awarded the military rank of “soldier”.

Fit for military service in terms of health, according to the careful and attentive determination of Judge Yeshchenko E.I., convicted Kravchenko D.V. passed the professional and psychological selection and had a sufficient level of physical fitness to perform military service duties. And, of course, convicted Denis Kravchenko at the time of the court hearing met the requirements for military service under a contract.

As a result, Judge Yelena Ivanovna Yeshchenko ruled that the convicted D.V. Kravchenko should be released a whole year before his sentence was served, and, in connection with this, he must fulfill a number of requirements.

First, A.V. Dzyuman was supposed to hand over Denis Kravchenko to a unit of the National Guard of Ukraine, which, in turn, was supposed to hand over the freed man and already a soldier to a military unit.

Secondly, soldier Kravchenko had to immediately and no later than 24 hours after the court decision came into force, accompanied by a detachment of guardsmen, arrive at the military unit, sign a contract and begin military service.

Thirdly, the court imposed administrative supervision on the future defender of Ukraine Kravchenko with the application of the following restrictions:

– a ban on staying outside the boundaries of the deployment of the military unit and the place of stay determined by his future immediate commander;

– a ban on travel or a restriction on the time of travel for personal reasons beyond the boundaries of the military unit’s deployment and the place of stay determined by the immediate commander, without the permission of the unit commander;

– the court assigned control over all restrictions established by the court to the unit commander.

Who did the chief Alexander Dzyuman want to get rid of, and what priceless warrior did Colonel Kh want to get?

The biography of the 40-year-old newly minted private Denis Vasilyevich Kravchenko, born in the village of Yurkivka, Zvenigorod district, Cherkasy region, fully corresponds to his patriotic wishes, as well as the wishes of his commander, Colonel Kh.

On July 29, 2003, Denis Vasilievich Kravchenko, a Ukrainian, citizen of Ukraine, unemployed, unmarried, with a complete general secondary education, was sentenced to 4 years of imprisonment. At that time, he was only 17 years old. Released on parole, unserved term of punishment – 1 year 3 months and 9 days.

On February 1, 2006, Denis Vasilyevich was sentenced by the same court to 4 years and 6 months. On April 14, 2010, he was released after serving his sentence.

On April 29, 2011, exactly one year after his release, the same Vatutinsky Court sentenced Denis Kravchenko to 3 years and 6 months of imprisonment. On June 12, 2013, he was released on parole, the unserved sentence was 1 year, 1 month and 8 days.

On July 10, 2015, Denis Kravchenko was sentenced by the Katerynopilsky District Court of Cherkasy Oblast to 3 years and 6 months of imprisonment. On July 14, 2017, he was released on parole, the unserved sentence is 1 year, 1 month, 5 days.

On January 22, 2021, the native Vatutinsky court sentenced Kravchenko D.V. to 3 years and 10 months.

On July 19, 2022, the Zvenigorod District Court of the Cherkasy Region sentenced Denis Kravchenko to 3 years and 10 months in prison.

The Cherkasy Region Court of Appeal also took an active part in the fate of Denis Vasilyevich Kravchenko. It corrected the judge of the Vatutinsky District Court and, taking into account the defendant’s complicated biography, finally sentenced him to 4 years and 6 months.

What was the newly-minted warrior of light Denis Kravchenko tried for? Here are just a few examples from his creative life.

In September 2019, while staying at a drinking buddy’s house, Denis Kravchenko stole a mobile phone worth 100 UAH from the owner, a loaded air pistol valued by experts at 999.67 UAH.

On September 2, 2019, Denis Vasilievich Kravchenko, the happy owner of an unexpunged conviction, came at about 08:15 to the “Products” store located in the city of Vatutine, on Yurkivska Street, 2. There he stole a phone from a girl who had recklessly left it on the counter. The cost of the phone was 765.67 UAH and the flash card – 40 UAH.

On September 4, 2019, at approximately 9:00 p.m., while intoxicated in a local cafe-bar, city of Vatutine, Zvenigorodskaya Street, 1, Denis Kravchenko stole money in the amount of 1478 UAH from one resident, a leatherette backpack (275 UAH) from another, a fabric backpack (162.50 UAH), a mobile phone (719.75 UAH).

On September 8, 2019, at approximately 19:45, while standing near the premises of the same “Products” store, Denis Vasilyevich Kravchenko, having attached himself to a certain citizen, sprayed him in the eyes from a gas canister.

Then, having dealt with the enemy, Denis Kravchenko then, on September 8, but already at approximately 01:00, having opened the entrance doors, entered someone else’s house, where from the freezer of the refrigerator he stole pork meat (shoulder) weighing 3 kg (270 UAH), pork ribs weighing 3 kg (240 UAH), pork liver weighing 2 kg (39.20 UAH), beef meat (neck) weighing 1 kg (127.59 UAH), beef liver weighing 0.7 kg (20.30 UAH).

On January 3, 2020, Denis Kravchenko entered the house through the front door, from which he stole a mobile phone worth UAH 245, a leatherette wallet worth UAH 85, a men’s leather jacket valued by an expert at UAH 312.50, an aluminum frying pan with a diameter of 25 cm, worth UAH 103.33, another aluminum frying pan, but already with a diameter of 35 cm, worth UAH 116.67, one aluminum bowl with a volume of 5 liters worth UAH 133.33, one aluminum cauldron with a volume of 5 liters, worth UAH 125.

That same night, January 3, 2020, Denis Vasilievich Kravchenko broke into the house of another careless local resident through the front door. He stole a mobile phone (230 UAH), a “Ukraine” bicycle (6716.33 UAH), a TV tuner with a charger and remote control (214.33 UAH).

On the same night, January 3, 2020, from about half past twelve to seven in the morning, while in the house of his friend, Denis Kravchenko stole a mobile phone (143.33 UAH), a SIM card (75 UAH), and cash in the amount of 4,700 UAH.

On February 19, 2020, at approximately 4:00 p.m., near the railway station, Denis Kravchenko stole a mobile phone (UAH 2,533.33) in a leather case (UAH 150) with two SIM cards (UAH 75 and UAH 25) from a drinking buddy with whom he was “vacationing.”

On May 5, 2020, Denis Kravchenko made his way through unlocked doors into a utility room on the territory of the Solnechny dacha cooperative, from where he stole a Desna brand bicycle (UAH 900).

On May 13, 2020, at approximately 17:00, Denis Kravchenko, who for some reason found himself on the territory of the Vatutinsky municipal heating network enterprise, stole an Aist brand bicycle (UAH 1,070).

On June 15, 2020, at night and, again, having broken into locked doors, Denis Kravchenko entered someone else’s house, from where he stole an electric saw (UAH 1,268.40), an electric drill (UAH 390.50), a water pump (UAH 290), a nine-meter extension cord (UAH 200), a metal pan (UAH 112.80), a cast-iron frying pan (UAH 90), a stainless steel pan (UAH 112.80), and three aluminum pans (UAH 240).

On August 4, 2020, Denis Kravchenko broke the padlock in a utility room belonging to a local resident and stole an Aist brand bicycle worth UAH 1,418.33. On the night of August 3-4, 2020, he entered the utility room of another local resident in the same way, also broke the padlock and stole an Atlant brand bicycle worth UAH 4,233.33.

The theft of the bicycles was preceded by a drinking bout with a drinking buddy. This friend of Denis Kravchenko told the court that they drank alcohol together until the night.

The party took place in the city of Vatutino in the Zvenigorod district.

Then they approached a five-story building.

The drinking buddy remembers that Denis went down to the basement of the house, from where he returned with a bicycle. Then he brought another bicycle out of the basement. “One was red, the other had curved handles, like a sports one,” he said.

On these bicycles, both “horse thieves” went to the city of Kropyvnytskyi. There, Denis Kravchenko sold one of the bicycles to someone for 300 UAH.

In court, Denis Vasilievich Kravchenko admitted that from the end of 2019 until the summer of 2020, he stole various property from citizens both in his ancestral village of Yurkivka in the Zvenigorod district and in the city of Vatutino in the Cherkasy region. He asked not to be punished severely and sincerely repented.

This is only part of the adventures of Denis Vasilievich Kravchenko proven by the investigation and the courts.

And, as a version: Colonel X needs the convicted Kravchenko to steal pots, pans, meat, dry rations?..

Truly, an invaluable warrior of the Armed Forces of Ukraine!

Denis Vasilyevich Kravchenko, a private with a clear conscience and a VUS specialty of “worker”, rushed to Kyiv with his military ID. That is, he voluntarily left the unit in which he was supposed to be under the administrative supervision of the unit commander, Colonel X, for twelve months.

In Kyiv, Denis Vasilyevich Kravchenko was engaged in his usual business until September 26, 2024, until the day when he was detained by the police and then arrested by the court.

Colonel X obviously did not look for him, and if he did, he did not look very diligently. It is unknown whether he wrote a statement to the DBR about the deserter Kravchenko. It is also unknown whether the DBR and VSP wrote anything to him about the disappearance of this warrior of light?

And did Denis Vasilyevich Kravchenko receive (or perhaps still receive?) monetary or other compensation as a contract warrior of light?
